SEASON II – RULES
14 Teams.  10 Grand. Winner Take All.

That is the basic plot for the 2nd season of 333 TV.  14 teams were selected (for more information on how the teams were selected read “The Vision” page) to take part in the show.  They will compete using 333 rules and standings will be kept using 333 Best Overall scoring.  Each team will be required to declare which 4 events they will be counting toward their overall score prior to the beginning of the season.  Teams must count any event at which they are filmed, but they may select from any 333 event to complete their list of 4 events.  At the end of the regular season each team will have a cumulative score that will consist of their best 3 out of 4 port scores.  The top 4 teams will travel to Bay Harbor, Michigan where they will compete using 333 rules.  The heaviest 3 fish catch at the end of the Bay Harbor Tournament will be declared the 333 Broadcast Champion.

Scoring Breakdown:

Teams will compete in (4) 333 events.  A first place finish is worth 100 points.  2nd place is worth 99, 3rd is worth 98 etc.  A size of field bonus will be added to each teams score.  This bonus will be calculated as 10% of the amount of teams entered in the 333.  For example:  38 boats = 3.8 points,  67 boats = 6.7 points.  So, if a team finishes 8th in a field of 43 boats that team will receive the following score:

93.0     <<< 8th place finsih points
4.3 <<< Size of Field Bonus
97.3     <<< Total Points

This is the same exact calculation that will be in use for the 333 Best Overall competition including Jeff’s Jackpot.

Scoring for the Bay Harbor Showdown:

Scoring in Bay Harbor will go strictly by weight.  No point conversion will be needed because all 4 teams will be competing at the same time in the same port.  333 TV Teams will be required to leave from and return to the port of Bay Harbor.  They will be required to abide by all rules of the 333 and the Bay Harbor Tournament.  Any disqualification or action that renders their catch void in the Bay Harbor Tournament will also render their catch void in the 333 and the Broadcast Championship.  In other words, as is always the case with the 333, any fish weighed for the 333 and/or the 333 Broadcast Championship must come from a legal tournament catch.  Tie breakers for the showdown will be biggest single fish.

Qualification For Future Seasons:

Scoring for 333 TV will mirror the 333 Best Overall Scoring through out the season.  We will use this scoring to determine which teams will initially be invited to compete in future seasons of 333 TV.  The Top 10 finishing boats in the 333 Best Overall Division of the current season will be invited to compete on 333 TV in the following season.  In addition to the Top 10, the defending champion of the current season of 333 TV will be invited to return to defend the title.

An invitation does not guaranteed a spot on the show.  All invited teams will be subject to the LMTA Eligibility Clause.  All invited teams will also need to agree to specific terms such as accessibility and scheduling.  All invited teams will also be required to pay the 333 TV Tournament Entry Fee along with the 333 Port Entry fees at the tournaments in which they choose to compete.  All invited teams will also be required to know and abide by the tournament and film rules of the 333 TV Broadcast Championship for their current season.

Of course, no team is required to compete on 333 TV.  A team may decline involvement for any reason.  After contact is made to each qualifying team, any remaining openings in the cast will be filled at the discretion of the producers of the show.
