2011 Best Overall – Final Results
Thanks to everyone that fish 333 in 2011! Congrats to our Best Overall Winners!
There are some changes to the format of the 333 Best Overall Division in 2011. I think you’ll agree that they’re all for the better!
First… There’s cash! It’s guaranteed and its substantial. Thanks to the all new “Jeff’s Jackpot”, which was inspired by Jeff Marlow from Lexington Homes and supported by both Rampage Sportfishing Yachts and Onekama Marine, we have a $10,000 purse to award at the end of the year. First place will get $3,333.00 in cash and the top 12 places will all get a share. The best part of Jeff’s Jackpot is that it is absolutely free to enter! There is no extra cost – entry is free and automatic when you sign up to fish 333 in 2011. I’ll track all the scores and post updates at the link above after each event.
Second… There’s TV! At least a shot at it anyways! When the season is over I’ll be contacting the Top 10 Boats in the Best Overall Division and inviting them to compete in Season 3 of 333 TV!
Third… We’ve gone back to one division. No pro. No am. No north. No south. It’s a free-for-all! It’s still your best 3 of 4 scores, but we will automatically drop your lowest. If you fish more than 4 events we will use your first 4 events as your scores unless you specifically instruct us otherwise by checking the appropriate box on the 333 entry form. If you have questions about this please ask me! However, the simple answer is if you are fishing 4 or less tournaments in 2011 you have nothing special that you need to do. Everything is automatic and will be done for you.
Fourth… There will be one category of bonus points. The points will be awarded based on Size of Field. In other words, the more boats you compete against the more bonus points you will get. For example – we had 38 entries in Michigan City. The Size of Field bonus will always be calculated as 10% of the number of boats in the 333. That means each boat in Michigan City got an extra 3.8 points on top of their Best Overall Score. (So Fuzzy Bear who won got 103.8 points instead of 100. Break Time who came in second got 102.8 points instead of 99.) Get it? Thought so. It’s pretty simple and it provides a bit of a premium to the larger events on the trail.
That’s about it – if you have any questions on how Best Overall works feel free to contact me anytime!
